What is a Community Strategic Plan and what does it do?
Every NSW Council is required to have a long-term plan prepared with its community. Ku-ring-gai’s current Community Strategic Plan was developed in 2013. It contains a shared vision of what you value and want for Ku-ring-gai’s future.
The current Plan is based around six major areas. These are
- Community, people and culture
- Natural environment
- Places, spaces and infrastructure
- Access, traffic and transport
- Local economy and employment
- Leadership and governance
These six areas are explained in Strategic Themes section on this site and in the current Plan.
What does the Plan do?
The Plan guides local decision-making by the Council. It also helps shape annual spending by the Council and what priorities the community wants us to focus on.
The Plan also identifies outcomes that rely on partnerships with other stakeholders such as government, community groups and business.
